Flower Streets
Corona del Mar

I found this cute little house in the heart of Corona Del Mar desperately in need of some TLC, but with it’s white stucco facade and green metal roof, it reminded me of the charming country homes I saw while traveling in South Africa and I knew it had to be mine.  I also fell in love with the original details of the 1940’s cottage: painted beamed ceilings, hardwood floors, natural wood bookshelves, and a quirky driftwood handrail.  However, the kitchen, bathrooms, and millwork throughout were poorly planned and in bad disrepair, requiring a full remodel to finish the authentic look and feel of a mid century seaside home. Once completed, I decorated the interior with some of our well-loved pieces, repurposing and reupholstering a few, and furnishing the rest with vintage finds, collected treasures, and layers of pattern and texture.  What started as a whim intuitively transformed into a cozy home, perfectly suited to our own personal aesthetic and relaxed way of living.
