Corona del Mar
What was originally designed by the architect as a formal Spanish style house with heavier architectural details, evolved into this understated Spanish Colonial style home, outdoor loggia and pretty center courtyard. The clients’ desire for a European-infused home was influenced by the architecture in their native South Africa and the dream of a relaxed lifestyle. Built around a central courtyard featuring a pool and accents of citrus trees and floral gardens, the French doors to the home provide an abundance of natural light. A warm, creamy white wall color, glazed terracotta pavers, hand-hewn wood floors, and custom hand-painted wall tiles complete the classical colonial-style architecture, while a rich, sophisticated color palette makes the rooms feel cozy and inviting. As admirers of refined details in fashion and design, the clients love the result and the subtle nuances that make their home feel special.
